Patricia Routledge and Prunella Scales return as Vera Small and Irene Spencer, who conduct their long friendship through a candid and not uncritical correspondence.



1: After a long period of silence, Vera decides to offer an olive branch



2: Vera has discovered plenty of new recipes on her trip to India. Meanwhile, back in England, Irene has installed herself in the bosom of Vera's family.



3: Vera has returned from India, but Irene has already fled home to investigate the mystery man seen hanging around her house.



4: After falling out with Vera, Irene flies to Australia to help with the birth of her daughter's new baby.



5: Irene's new grandchild has arrived early, while Vera waits impatiently for her daughter to give birth.



6: Vera has seen the same mystery man who was stalking Irene before she went to Australia.



7: Irene apologises for an especially offensive e-mail about Vera's son Howard and his partner Antony, but will it be accepted?



8: E-mails are now flying so fast between Irene and Vera that there seems to be some confusion. Is Irene's daughter getting married or not?



9: Vera's daughter Karen has disappeared, leaving Vera to hold the baby.



10: Vera has just received an anguished e-mail from Irene, whose mysterious stalker is ringing the doorbell.
